Weekly Announcements for the week of October 25, 2026
Reformation Sunday 10-25-2026
As long as sin remains in this world, we will face challenges to God’s living word of grace and freedom, not only because of those who would keep us enslaved if they could, but also because of our own bondage to various powers, including this “thingdom” of power, prestige, prosperity, and pleasure that our culture preaches and pimps as the good life. Today we celebrate redemption, restoration, renewal, and revival through the gift of God’s grace in Christ Jesus! May each of us rediscover that no other life than LIFE IN CHRIST will save, satisfy, or sustain us. Find your freedom by grabbing on and holding on to Jesus! Welcome to St. Peter’s. Here is a place and a people where you can receive, practice, grow, and go in God’s love.

BOILER BLUES!
Last Sunday our boiler (which heats our church building, the attached education building, and the also-attached pastors’ house banged and clanged heating pipes all over the buildings as if Trump was reenacting his attack on the U.S. Capitol, spit out lots of hot steam from the boiler room and also from the lower Briar Road entrance area, leaked out about 75 buckets of steaming water on the boiler room floor, gave a final loud belch, and seemingly “died”. We’re so grateful that there were no injuries! By about 8:30AM all was relatively quiet and calm. This past week as been spent gathering information and advice so that we can make a “repair or replace” decision, choose a commercial boiler contractor, and look at the finances required. Please be aware that this process could take a few weeks or more. Depending on the weather temperature, we may be in a chilly sanctuary on a Sunday or worship downstairs in Rhoda Hall (which has some electric heat). You might anticipate that, depending on costs involved, there may be a “Boiler Blues Fund” appeal to help cover the costs. But it takes more than a broken boiler to stop the good news of Jesus!
