Weekly Announcements for the week of November 1, 2026

All Saints Sunday 11-01-2026
Who are the saints? Some of them, including our four congregation members and also your family and friends, have already completed their life’s journey on this earth and rest from their labors; they have fought the good fight of faith and received the crown; and now they rejoice in the everlasting blessing of no more death, mourning, crying, pain, or struggle. And some of them live near and far around us, still breathing, still trying to walk the way of humble faith and obedient servant-love. And you also are a saint… I am a saint… we are all saints gathered together this Sunday morning. Saints are ordinary, everyday, and not perfect people who go where and do how God’s love leads. Every day is a call to try to walk and talk and think and act holy with a genuine heart and a courageous, compassionate faith. There are so many ordinary and even some extraordinary ways to offer ourselves as God’s instruments of love. To be a saint, then, is not a sign of perfection but a sign of fidelity, Will you try? Saints of God, let us go and become where Christ leads us.

BOILER BLUES! We had some sort of boiler “catastrophe” on October 18, and our boiler is currently not working. We are still investigating and have not yet come to a “repair or replace” decision. Please be aware that this process could take a few weeks or more. Depending on the weather temperature, we may be in a chilly sanctuary on a Sunday or worship downstairs in Rhoda Hall (which has some electric heat). We are grateful for the warm sunshine, we are grateful for expertise and advice we have received in this process, and we are grateful that it takes more than a broken boiler to stop the good news of Jesus from warming hearts.
