Weekly Announcements for the week of October 4, 2026
19TH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST / World Communion Welcome. Press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let us no longer live for the lesser goals and the lesser “gods” that are unworthy of our efforts. How good it is to labor in God’s realm and to produce a rich harvest of God’s love here, there, everywhere! .
TODAY

10:00AM + PENTECOST SEASON WORSHIP + (in person and online)

Life is a gift to be shared, not a possession to be wasted or hidden.
Beyond support of our 2026 Budget ($187,927 is what we envision spending) are those opportunities for special giving on behalf of others. You can also give directly online to most of these:
ELCA World Hunger: $2,3266 to date.
Lutheran Charities (KenCrest Services, Lutheran Settlement House, and Gemma Services, three service ministries in the Philadelphia metropolitan area): $911 to date.
St. Peter’s Mission Offering [July 1 – December 31]: Pure Heart Mission, a grassroots neighborhood charitable organization begun by local resident Lamar Glover. $275 to date.
“God’s Global Barnyard” (an ELCA development project that involves sending chickens, goats, cows, and other animals and items somewhere in the world to overcome poverty. $20 to date.
Lutheran Disaster Response and Lutheran World Relief: $225 to date.
We invite you to share in our new life together –
LOVE, NOT HATE. PEACE, NOT VIOLENCE.
MERCY, NOT GREED. JUSTICE, NOT ABUSE.
HUMILITY, NOT ARROGANCE. GOD’S TRUTH, NOT LIES. THE WAY OF JESUS, NOT JUST “MY WAY”.

“Words spoken by the wise bring them favor, but the lips of fools consume them. The words of their mouths begin in foolishness, and their talks end in wicked madness; yet fools talk on and on. No one knows what is to happen, and who can tell anyone what the future holds?” [Ecclesiastes 10:12-14] Pray for our President as he appears to be deteriorating physically, mentally, and emotionally… and as those who bent the knee before him now begin to desert him. Human ways and human politics are under God’s eyes, and God has a final say about life and death and justice.
