Weekly Announcements for 6th Sunday After Epiphany 02-16-2025

Psalm 1 suggests that the man, the woman, the child, the old person, the teen, the young adult who respects God, who looks and listens for God, who humbles self before God, who seeks to serve God, is blessed. Such a person has the deep roots of faith that provide a sturdy foundation… deep roots that are planted in the rich and moist soil of God’s goodness and glory… deep roots that are nurtured and empowered by the life-giving waters of God’s grace… deep roots that do not fail… deep roots that hold on… deep roots that lead to strong branches and wonderful fruit. Blessed is the one who chooses God! Such a person is not self-centered and self-serving. Such a person does not conform to the crowd or drift after every craze. Such a person stands sturdy and steady, nourished by hope. Such a person does not wither and wilt… waste their life away. Such a person bears fruitful blessing to others, has a life that is significant, and experiences joy and meaning. Psalm 1 is talking about real living, true happiness. Where have YOU searched for true happiness in your life? What will you choose today? Today we are alive… but it won’t always be. Right now we have a choice about how to live and what to live for… but maybe not
next week or next year or even tomorrow.
