This Week At St. Peter’s | 10-16-2022
37th Annual Women’s Day! Thank you, sisters in Christ, for a wonderful Saturday and Sunday! From “first bite” of the Prayer Breakfast to “last bite” of the dinner fellowship, every part of the weekend was nourishment for the body, mind, and soul. The Women’s Day Offering this year is currently at $2,938; some who were absent or penniless last weekend might give their offering in a Women’s Day offering envelope today or in next few weeks so that we might reach our goal of some needed repair and renovation of our smaller Knapp Chapel. Thanks to all the planners, preparers, and participants! Thanks to all who attended, invited, or brought others!

no current new variants… stay safe through vaccinations and boosters, masks and social distance, fresh air ventilation, and the mantra “Stay home if you don’t feel well.”; (4) selected two causes to share our 2022 Mission Offerings (quarterly envelopes in the box of offering envelopes) at the end of the year: No More Secrets which addresses inadequate access to menstrual sanitary products and hygiene education in Philadelphia… and Covenant House in the Germantown neighborhood which helps get homeless young adults off the streets, into a job, and transitioned into independent living.
LOVE, NOT HATE. PEACE, NOT VIOLENCE.
MERCY, NOT GREED. JUSTICE, NOT ABUSE.
HUMILITY, NOT ARROGANCE. GOD’S TRUTH, NOT LIES. THE WAY OF JESUS, NOT JUST “MY WAY”.

Are you registered to vote? The deadline to register is October 24. The deadline to request a mail-in or absentee ballot is November 1. Are you planning to vote? In these times of political turmoil, national anxiety, and bitter division, live the better life of faith and faithfulness. Don’t be fooled or discouraged by those who are trying to deceive, divide, and even destroy our nation for their own personal egos and greed. Use your right to vote even as some seek to manipulate or eliminate it. Pray for God’s peace and justice to prevail even as some try to promote hate and violence. Show mercy and act with compassion in spite of what others say and do. Lift up human rights for all, not just for you and your own. We are living in challenging times. Step up to the challenge.
