Christmas 1 / THE NAME OF JESUS 01-01-2023
Let us enter fully into God’s new day and this New Year, rejoicing in its opportunities and facing its challenges with faith. Today God calls us each by name, surrounds us with a love that will not let us go, welcomes us into the family of faith, grants us a peace and a power that the world cannot give, and sends us forth bearing the name and the work of the Son, Jesus. Visiting? We invite you to join in our new life together as we hear God’s fresh word to us, grow in grace, and offer our God-given gifts in service to others.
TODAY
9:00AM All Saints Choir warm-up.
10:00AM + CHRISTMAS SEASON WORSHIP +
11:15AM All Saints Choir rehearsal will normally happen at this time each Sunday…

Pastors Neil and Gwen are both grateful and humbled by recent “wellness” and Christmas prayers, phone calls, cards, gifts, pie, soup, fruit, candle, and “Try this remedy” suggestions. Christian love is truly such a powerful blessing! Thank you also for all who have helped make this “Post-COVID” return to the Sanctuary for Advent and Christmas” a meaningful celebration of Christ’s birth among us and for us!

Giving.
Seek to be generous, regular, and responsible in your support of Christ’s work that happens at, through, and beyond this St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church congregation. In January of 2023 we are receiving, in addition to regular Budget support: 1) World Hunger Appeal offerings (quarterly) that go to our national E.L.C.A. denomination and help relieve local, national, and international suffering through direct aid, development, and advocacy; (2) Building Fund contributions (monthly) that help us repair and improve GOD’S PROPERTY as a ministry resource (We just had two plumbing repairs of $2665 in December); (3) The Mission offerings received in 2022 will be split between two causes: No More Secrets which addresses inadequate access to menstrual sanitary products and hygiene education in Philadelphia… and Covenant House in the Germantown neighborhood which helps get homeless young adults off the streets, into a job, and transitioned into independent living.
