OPENING RITE (based on PSALM 98):
L In the glory of God our Creator, in the grace of Jesus [+] our Savior, and in the glow of the Holy Spirit, our Power,
C Amen! We gather to worship God with humble hearts, ready minds, and willing hands.
L Sing a new song to the Lord! Everybody, let us blend our voices to bless his holy name!
C The Lord has done marvelous things,
the Lord has revealed his righteousness to the nations,
and all the ends of the earth have seen God’s victory!
L Let God’s people shout with joy, rejoice with song, play their instruments, dance their dance, and proclaim God’s glory!
C Let the seas roar and the rivers clap their hands,
let the hills shake and shiver with joy,
and let all of creation join in jubilation of God’s salvation!
L Glory to God now and forever! Glory to God with our lips and our lives!
C Today, now, and always… here, there, and everywhere… let us praise the Lord!

THE PRAYER OF THE DAY (together):
Almighty God, when the final day comes we have no hope except in your grace.
Without you, nothing is strong, nothing is holy.
Stir up our hearts to live in faith through what is temporary so that we do not lose what is eternal.
By our endurance in Jesus Christ, let us gain our souls.
We want to be ready when the trumpet sounds, when the saints go marching in. Amen.

AN AFFIRMATION OF OUR FAITH:
I trust in God who has made me his own. I know that God loves me. To God I am as precious as his own
Son, Jesus Christ, who lived and died in obedience to his Father’s will. Jesus suffered our pain, and
through his suffering and death has brought us into fellowship with God.

I believe that God through his Spirit will give me strength when I am oppressed and weary… will give me love
when I am afraid and lonely… and will guide his Church to make people free at last.
I believe that God lives in the fellowship of those who trust him, and that God wants all people to be brought
into that fellowship.
I believe that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Living in hope and trust, I will take up my cross and walk the Jesus walk of faithful servant love. Amen.

God of grace and glory, we thank you for the gift of creation and the gift of our lives,
for the gift of salvation and the gift of Jesus Christ,
for the gift of your Holy Spirit and the gift of your Church.
Take our attitude of gratitude and transform it into caring and sharing towards the least, the lost,
and the lonely all over the face of this earth.
Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an everflowing stream. Amen.
THE PREFACE:

L Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. C It is right to give God our thanks and praise.
L We are the Body of Christ! C His Spirit is in us!
L Gracious God, today we gather as a family of faith to break the bread and to bless the cup, to share the body and
blood of our Lord and our Savior, to find strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow. And today we anticipate
and celebrate that day, that glorious day, that great and promised day, when we will feast with all the saints in your
eternal realm. And today we sing with gratitude and joy…

COMMUNION AND BLESSINGS… All believers in Jesus Christ are welcome at the Lord’s Table! The wine may be received from
the pouring chalice; we also have grape juice on the tray. Praise the Lord for this community meal that renews our spirits, powers
our faith, and reminds us of the future heavenly banquet that awaits us!
