INTRODUCTION TO OUR WORSHIP:
Welcome. Early Christians began to speak of the HOLY TRINITY – one God in three “persons” – to describe more fully the wonder of salvation and our human experience of God’s overflowing, extravagant love. God is above us, beside us, and within us. God is our loving “Father”, Creator… God is our loving Savior and Redeemer Jesus the Son…and God is our loving companion and sustainer the Holy Spirit. This doctrine not only lifts up God’s divine capacity for relationship, but also reminds us that the primary relationship for each of us must always be with God. And it also draws us into mutual loving relationship with one another. If you are not resistant, then the love that God has for you will turn you into a faithfully living and fervently loving person.
OPENING SONG: “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty” Tan #329
A CALL TO WORSHIP:
L O Lord our God, your name is MAJESTIC!
C COMPASSIONATE!
L GLORIOUS!
C INSPIRING!
L BEAUTIFUL!
C AMAZING!
L TENDER!
C POWERFUL!
L How full of wonder and splendor you are!
C May your glory be chanted in the heavens, your goodness praised all over the face of this earth!
L Awesome God, we tremble to hear that we are created in your image!
C You breathed your Spirit, bestowed your love, and made us your own.
L Don’t let us forget our destiny or fail to hear your call.
C Lead us out of the ways of slavery and death to new life as your daughters and sons.
L May we celebrate God’s amazing grace in our lives every single moment that we have breath.
C Help us to be faithful in our living and fervent in our loving – here, there, now, always, and in all ways. Amen!
A SONG OF PRAISE: “Father, I Adore You”
1 FATHER, I adore you. 2 JESUS, I adore you. 3 SPIRIT, I adore you.
Lay my life before you. Lay my life before you. Lay my life before you.
How I love you! How I love you! How I love you!
PRAYER OF THE DAY:
Let us pray.
Almighty God, here we are, flesh and blood, spirit and life – created, redeemed, and empowered by your love.
Let us stand steadfast in our faith, steadfast in the midst of this world’s burdens and temptations.
Let your glory shine on us, and let your light shine from us.
We offer ourselves and pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

FIRST READING: PROVERBS 8:1-4, 22-31 [Wisdom is in creation. Is it in you?]
8:1 Does not wisdom call, and does not understanding raise her voice?
8:2 On the heights, beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand;
8:3 beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries out:
8:4 “To you, O people, I call, and my cry is to all that live.
8:22 The LORD created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of long ago.
8:23 Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth.
8:24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water.
8:25 Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth–
8:26 when he had not yet made earth and fields, or the world’s first bits of soil.
8:27 When he established the heavens, I was there, when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,
8:28 when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep,
8:29 when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
8:30 then I was beside him, like a master worker; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always,
8:31 rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the human race.
PSALM: PSALM 8 [A majestic God and the astounding mystery of God’s love for the human being.]
8:1 O LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
8:2 Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have founded a bulwark because of your foes, to silence the enemy and the avenger.
8:3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established;
8:4 what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?
8:5 Yet you have made them a little lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honor.
8:6 You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet,
8:7 all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
8:8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
8:9 O LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
SECOND READING: ROMANS 5:1-5 [There is nothing better than trusting God!]
5:1 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
5:2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God.
5:3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,
5:4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,
5:5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
GOSPEL VERSE:
“Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.”
HOLY GOSPEL: JOHN 16:12-15 [Let God’s Spirit lead you to true faith.]
16:12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
16:14 He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
16:15 All that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

SONG SELECTION
AN AFFIRMATION OF OUR FAITH:
We confess our FAITH in the God who has given us life, love, and power…
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
THE OFFERING… God has generously gifted us with the world, God’s word, and God’s love. We have been called to responsibly manage God’s creation, to humbly obey God’s word, and to generously offer helping hands towards others. Let us show our gratitude and our commitment to love as we have been loved by God!
OFFERING SONG:
“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God, born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.
THIS IS MY STORY, THIS IS MY SONG,
PRAISING MY SAVIOR ALL THE DAY LONG! [sing the chorus 2 times]
We are God’s people, we are Christ’s Church, called by God’s Spirit into the world.
We have God’s power from heaven above, we’ll share God’s justice, mercy and love!”
OFFERING PRAYER:
O Lord our God, if your Spirit is alive within us, then stretch our time and abilities, our money and our mouths, all that we are and all that we have, to testify to your amazing grace in Jesus Christ. Someone somewhere is in need of your Good News. Amen.
MUSIC SELECTION: “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” Dennis Fortune Tan #158
THE PRAYERS… We pray for NEW LIFE in the Spirit and for the MISSION of the Church to the world! If we aren’t faithful in our daily living and fruitful in witnessing to others the good news of Jesus Christ, then we aren’t really the Body of Christ!
