Weekly Announcements for the week of October 18, 2026
Welcome to St. Peter’s. When babies are born there is a friendly tug-of-war between families as to which parent the baby most resembles. She looks just like her mother! She has her father’s eyes! He has his father’s hair! His ears definitely come from her side of the family! Jesus takes us deeper than just our physical appearance. Whose likeness do you bear? Is it the likeness and image of God, who has created you? What, then, will you render to God? When we do only as we please or only what will please the world, we usually don’t please God. Pleasing God requires our sincere love, our trusting faith, our humble obedience, our entire lives. What belongs to God? All that I have, all that I am, all that I seek. Anything less than that is too little.

- PETER’S CHURCH COUNCIL (10/12): (1) approved minutes of 9/14 Council meeting; (2) did not have January – September financial report for review; (3) received a report from Pastor Neil about necessary boiler repair and voted to not pay $189 for a recent “boiler service call” that was not legitimately offered by an identified plumbing firm or accepted; (4) received summary of Halloween Party plans; (5) discussed the need for more ushers. We are grateful for the elected Council members who are committed to help lead and serve our St. Peter’s Church! As 2027 approaches, YOU might be willing to be a candidate for election at our Annual Meeting. Speak to a current Council member or to the Pastors.
“Clothed in the Word – Know Your Worth” Proverbs 31
It was another soggy Sunday outside (fifth in a row?)… and there was a sloppy Eagles game on early TV to try to cope with (third heartache in a row for fans?). But we sang and prayed and listened and got inspired and shared joys and hugs and a holy meal upstairs and a happy meal downstairs. Thanks to all who planned, provided, invited, participated, and helped celebrate women of faith (and men too!) who find their true worth in being created by God, redeemed by the death and resurrection of Jesus, and lovingly guided by the Holy Spirit God-given identity It was truly a wonderful Annual Women’s Day at St. Peter’s…
Render unto Caesar… Render unto God…
