7TH SUNDAY OF EASTER

05-17-2026 10:00AM Worship (in person and online)

+ WE ANNOUNCE THE VICTORY +

OPENING SONG: “Jesus Shall Reign” Tan #289

OPENING RITE FOR EASTER 7 AND THE EASTER PEACE:

L Alleluia! Christ is risen.

C Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia!

L He who came to save us…

C is risen and ascended!

L He who bled and died…

C is crowned with glory at the Father’s side!

L He who conquered Satan, sin, and death…

C will come again to judge the living and the dead!

L Death, despair, and the devil don’t have the last word.

C We are an Easter people, always rising!

L Therefore, let weeping turn to laughing,

let sorrow turn to joy,

let death turn to life,

let uncertainty turn to assurance,

let hesitation turn to proclamation,

C and let there be hope when hope is gone!

L Sisters and brothers, it is in Christ that we live and move and have our being… and it is in Christ that we are brought

together in unity as one to receive his Spirit, to take up his mission of love, and to bring harmony to a disordered world.

Let us affirm this mission of love and practice this oneness here and now…

[Each person will turn to a neighbor, make the sign of the cross on the forehead, and say…]

C “Receive [+] the sign of the cross. Because HE died, YOU are alive!”

THE PEACE GREETING… We share the peace, love, and forgiveness of the RISEN CHRIST!

SONG OF PRAISE: “Lord, I lift your name on high, Lord, I love to sing your praises.

I’m so glad you’re in my life, I’m so glad you came to save us.

You came from heaven to earth to show the way;

from the earth to the cross, my debt to pay;

from the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky; Lord, I lift your name on high!”

THE PRAYER OF THE DAY (together):

Dear God of glory and power, with one heart we pray for the Spirit to stir us once more with life… and with one

mind let us focus on our common witness of making Christ known to others in suffering and in joy. Amen.

AN AFFIRMATION OF OUR FAITH (The Apostles’ Creed):

L Living in the joy and the power of the Risen Lord, let us boldly confess our faith…

C I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and

born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He

descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the

right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the

resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
