Weekly Announcements for the week of February 8, 2026
5TH SUNDAY AFTER EPIPHANY 02-08-2026
A believer who is “worth his/her salt” as a Christian is a beacon of light shining out into the world’s darkness for those who are sinning, those who are suffering, and those who are searching and stumbling around. Preserve God’s word in your own hearts and add the distinct flavor of God’s grace to the lives of others. Don’t hide your light under a basket, but shine forth with good deeds and transforming love, giving God all the glory.
TODAY
9:00AM All Saints Choir warm-up for worship.
10:00AM + Epiphany Season Worship + (in person and online)
[This winter has been rather snowy, creating those travel difficulties and parking challenges in our church neighborhood. One Sunday we were wisely online only due to the timing of the snowstorm. Last Sunday 25 persons were physically present for worship, 25 households were present online. Some activities and meetings have been cancelled. But two funerals were recently held here in spite of driving and parking challenges. We will continue to report and follow the schedule that we think we have, knowing that storms might lead to changes. Last Sunday’s “in person” attendance was a real joy, with Dennis Fortune driving up from Delaware to play the keyboard, Leon Jordan driving down from Reading to drum, and others walking or driving just to worship next to another sister or brother… just to praise Jesus… just to celebrate Black History!]
ICE STORMS TO PRAY ABOUT IN THE U.S.A.
(1) The icy weather – Deep freeze causing hardship and struggle across much of our nation.
(2) The I.C.E. “military” – Untrained, undisciplined, and not held accountable for violence and murder against non-criminal immigrants and innocent citizens.
(3) The chilling effect of our President’s empty heart, frazzled mind, abusive greed, and
unlimited truth-bending as he tries to control our nation and conquer the world. He’s
more than just a little unhinged. The other day, he said, “My proudest legacy is as a
peacemaker and a unifier of all the world.”
Faith in action through grateful giving!
Recent offerings given in worship or through the mail have been received but not tabulated due to weather, travel, and illness. We are grateful to all those who make a financial offering in some way to express gratitude to the Lord, to extend God’s love to others, and to support God’s mission that occurs at and beyond St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Keep the faith, but not just to yourself.
