2ND SUNDAY OF EASTER

04-12-2026 10:00AM Worship (in person and online)

+ WE ANNOUNCE THE VICTORY +

OPENING SONG: “Now All the Vault of Heaven Resounds” Green #143

(1) Now all the vault of heaven resounds in praise of love that still abounds:

“Christ has triumphed! He is living!”

Sing, choirs of angels, loud and clear! Repeat their song of glory here:

“Christ has triumphed! Christ has triumphed!” AL-LE-LU-IA, AL-LE-LU-IA, AL-LE-LU — IA!

(2) Eternal is the gift he brings, therefore our heart with rapture sings:

“Christ has triumphed! He is living!”

Now still he comes to give us life and by his presence stills all strife.

“Christ has triumphed! He is living!” AL-LE-LU-IA, AL-LE-LU-IA, AL-LE-LU — IA !

(3) Oh, fill us, Lord, with dauntless love; set heart and will on things above

that we conquer through your triumph;

Grant grace sufficient for life’s day that by our lives we truly say:

“Christ has triumphed! He is living!” AL-LE-LU-IA, AL-LE-LU-IA, AL-LE-LU — IA !

(4) Adoring praises now we bring and with the heav’nly blessed sing:

“Christ has triumphed! Alleluia!”

Be to the Father, and our Lord, to Spirit blest, most holy God,

all the glory, never ending! AL-LE-LU-IA, AL-LE-LU-IA, AL-LE-LU — IA !

THE OPENING RITE FOR EASTER 2 AND THE EASTER PEACE:

L Jesus is risen!

C Death could not hold him!

L The tomb is open, the stone is rolled away, the Lord is risen…

C but dead disciples tremble behind bolted doors!

L the door of the tomb is open, the grave is empty, and some say that Jesus is risen and alive…

C but denying doubters demand positive proof!

L My brothers, my sisters, do you tremble in fear, do you sometimes doubt, do you have questions or demand more proof?

C The honest truth is this: SOMETIMES.

L Oh, may the peace and power of the Risen Christ embrace and convince you this morning!

Let sorrow turn to joy, let shadows turn to light, let fear turn to faith, let doubt turn to assurance,

let cowardice turn to courage, let death turn life, and let there be hope when hope is gone!

C CHRIST IS RISEN, CHRIST IS ALIVE ALLELUIA!

L We are – only by God’s grace – EASTER people, always rising! Now let us bless and assure one another, offer a sign

and say the words, of what God has done for any and for all of us through Jesus Christ…

[Each person will turn to a neighbor, make the sign of the cross on the forehead, and say…]

C “Receive [+] the sign of the cross. Because HE died, YOU are alive!”

THE PEACE GREETING… We share the peace, love, and forgiveness of the RISEN CHRIST!

SONG OF PRAISE: “Lord, I lift your name on high, Lord, I love to sing your praises.

I’m so glad you’re in my life, I’m so glad you came to save us.

You came from heaven to earth to show the way;

from the earth to the cross, my debt to pay;

from the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky; Lord, I lift your name on high!”

THE PRAYER OF THE DAY (together):

O loving God, may your Son Jesus break through our barricades of doubt and fear… open our locked minds

and shadowed hearts… resurrect our spirits… and breathe new life into us. Help us to use our lips and our

lives to share your love and to offer the good news of CHRIST ALIVE here, there, and everywhere. Amen.

+ WE PROCLAIM GOD’S SAVING WORD +

Jesus Christ.]

[The letter celebrates the living hope that Christ’s resurrection gives to Christians who are experiencing difficult circumstances,

hardships, and suffering because of their faith.]

He gave His life, what more can He give?

OH, HOW HE LOVES YOU; OH, HOW HE LOVES ME;

Jesus to Calv’ry did go, His love for this world to show.

What He did there brought hope from despair…”

AN AFFIRMATION OF OUR FAITH (The Apostles’ Creed):

L Living in the joy and the power of the Risen Lord, let us boldly confess our faith…

C I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and

born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He

descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the

right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the

resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

THE PRAYERS… We pray that all people might be transformed by the GOOD NEWS of Easter!

+ WE SHARE GOD’S NOURISHING MEAL +
