BAPTISM OF OUR LORD (Epiphany Season) 01-07-2024
Dear God, thank you for the gift of a new year to serve You:
help me to talk right;
help me to walk right;
help me to see right;
help me to feel right;
help me to do right
in Your sight. Amen.
Marian Wright Edeman, founder and president emirita, Children’s Defense Fund
Pastor Gwen led us in praying this together in worship last Sunday. A new year brings a fresh opportunity and a spiritual challenge to be regular and responsible in using our God-gifted lives and resources in faithful living and fervent loving. Today is just day #7 of 366 opportunities (it’s a leap year) to do and to be this May you always remember your identity as God’s baptized child… may you never forget your mission as God’s anointed servant… and may you never stop trusting in God’s power to enable you in difficult times.

SHARE HIS LIGHT. + BEAR HIS WORD. + DARE HIS WILL.
College and Career Student Sunday. Last Sunday was a blessing! Thank you, Scholarship Committee!
Thank you, Minister Tiese Giles of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, for sharing God-gifted insight and encouragement – as a Christian young man of 14 years of age – on “The Joy of Waiting”! Blessings to all of our college and career students who are continuing the journey! Thanksgiving for those who who have reached a milestone in their education!
A neighborhood organization, the Oak Lane Wildcat cheerleaders (This particular squad was six years old!), have completed their season of practices twice a week here at St. Peter’s. The legacy runs long… many men and women and children of St. Peter’s over the decades were active leaders or participants in our area sports associations, including the Oak Lane Wildcats. !
+ Join our family, share God’s love, and grow in discipleship. +
Ask yourself these four questions: (1) Do you believe that God loves you? (2) Do you believe that you are a sinner? (3) Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins? (4) Will you now trust Jesus Christ as your Savior and follow him as your Lord? Speak to our Pastors about Holy Baptism, membership in the congregation, and faithful discipleship. In 2024, place your life under new management, with Christ as your Head and your Heart and your Hands.
